What our customer's say!

"Sold on this game", We started into the Euro-styled games a number of years ago with Catan, progressing through Puerto Rico and Ticket to Ride, but Dominion has to be the favorite. My wife was never excited to play CCGs with me; I have two sons who would play LOTR ccg and SWccg once in a while, but this game is a real hit. My wife even likes it! It is now our game of choice, and my reluctant gamers (children) are willing (and excited)to play most of the time. We have played this with friends and our married kids and most end up buying it for themselves. I did put sleeves on the cards and it has turned out to be a good investment. I now have the base game and three expansions, and have some facsimilie cards from the German game that we use once in awhile, so there are infinite combinations in a randomly selected Kingdom card set. I can't see us getting tired of a game with infinite possibilities.

"Deck building game", Dominion is a deck building game with a medieval setting. It's fun and very variable, since you'll very rarely have the same options of cards to choose from. There are several expansions that you can also buy, each with their own theme, which give you even more options.

To play, you set up a number of stacks of cards that you can buy on your turn, each of which allow you to do different things and have different benefits. Some are more geared towards helping you, and some are attack cards that are geared towards hindering the other players. There are also cards that are just money, which obviously allow you to buy things, and cards that represent land and victory points, which are what you need to win.

During the early part of the game, the cards that are of most value to you are the ones that will allow you to get more cards. At the end of the game, the victory points are the most valuable. In the middle...well, that's up to you to figure out, depending on your strategy and what's going on with everyone else. Deciding what cards will be of most value to you at any given time and figuring out how to best use what you have (some of the actions you can take are pretty interesting) is what makes the game fun.

My friends and I really enjoy playing, and I look forward to trying more of the expansions, but sometimes I feel a little frustrated by how pointless the game seems: you don't REALLY use your deck for anything except buying more cards, and the way to win is to buy the most victory points, which are useless until the counting up of them at the end. It's only a small quibble, though. The game really is a lot of fun.

"Fun for the family too", Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R19HORGMNVZMDB After having read and heard about Dominion for such a long time, we were anxious to pick up a copy for ourselves. So with such high expectations riding on it, how does it stand up with our family? It's a big hit! (At least it is with the boys.)

Dominion provides such a unique game play experience. Until we played Dominion, we had never played any card game like it. Instead of having a hand of cards and trying to get rid of it, you're trying to build your pile/deck of cards into one full of victory points.

You draw from your deck a hand of cards then you play the actions on those cards and `buy' other cards on the table to add to your deck. So your deck gets bigger and bigger as you go. You have to choose wisely what cards you add to your deck each turn so that you'll be able to do more with your cards later and ultimately get the most victory point card in your deck by the end of the game.

So unique and tons or re-playability. The boys love it.

"Great Game That Works as Well with Two as it Does Four", I will not waste time echoing the praise in other reviews. Trust me, the praise is well deserved. This is a great game that is easy to learn, yet very deep and fun. Honestly, it is as good as the reviews say.

What I do want to add, is that someone told me that this is one of the rare games that work just a well as a two-player game as a four-player game. If you do any gaming you know that many games will say something like 2-5 players, but playing with two people is a crippled version of the bigger experience. While we often game with friends, there are times where my wife and I want to play by ourselves at home. Usually as I said, you need to find games specifically designed for two-players (which are hard to find) and then of course they can not be enjoyed by larger groups.

This game lives up to the claim, it works just about as well with 2 as it does with more people. So if you are looking for an excellent, yet flexible game, give this a try.

"Dominion Rocks!", WARNING! This game can become very addictive.

I bought this game as one of my son's 21st birthday presents. We ended up playing it with some of his friends for almost two days straight. After he traveled back home I had to run out and buy it for myself.

This game is so addictive I've even had World of Warcraft players stop their games in order to play Dominion. Even my brother, who is not much of a game playing fan, loves playing this game.

With all of the different kingdom card choices every game is different and you have to constantly shift your strategy. Then when you add the expansion sets, the game becomes even more interesting. We also found it to be a very flexible game. We can tweak the rules/gameplay to create different playing experiences. Want the gameplay to last a little longer? Just put a few more decks in play. Want a race for provinces (the highest point victory cards)? Gameplay isn't over until all the province cards are gone, no matter how many other card stacks have been depleted.

Overall, Dominion is one of the best game purchases I've made.

"dominion. there is a reason they keep making expansions", Dominion is challenging, strategy card game that is often lumped together with toys and other games on Amazon, but fits in a very different category. Players build their deck during the course of the game, buying action cards, treasure cards and victory cards (much
like other German board games involving victory points). Every game is different as the selection of the 10 actions cards in the game
interact with each other differently.
Each game can last about 20 minutes.. not simple to learn but by no means difficult.

"Excellent game for 2-4 players", Bought this on a bit of a whim from Amazon (in order to bump the order and get free shipping on something else :-) ), and am I ever glad I made this order!

Dominion is an extremely addictive card/strategy game. The mechanics of the game are simple, and can be seen in other reviews. You start with a small deck of cards that grows and grows until the game ends. There is no 'right' and 'wrong' strategy to the game - you just hope yours works faster than your opponents.

I gave 3 stars for educational value because, while there is strategy, there isn't much other thinking required to play the game - that doesn't mean it's not a good family game. I gave 4 stars for durability because I don't know how long the cards will stand up to shuffling and such. That said, if the game wears out I'm buying it again. No kidding. It deserves all 5 stars for fun and overall rating - once you get the hang of it (the instructions are very helpful), this game will hook you like few others.

The best two aspects of the game are the following:

A: It is as good for 2 players as it is for 4. My wife and I have a hard time, sometimes, finding games that are genuinely fun and replayable for just two people. Many games say that 2 can play, but are vastly improved with a third; this one seems, to me, to be as good no matter how many play.

B: This game is over in 45 minutes or less. I say 45 minutes because the first game will take that long as you learn the mechanics, the shuffling, and how to use the action cards. Subsequent games are much quicker, on the lines of 30 minutes or so, even with 4 players. You'll probably get to a point where shuffling your deck will be the only thing slowing you down. :-)

We really like this game, and wholly recommend it to casual and avid gamers alike!

"Awesome game", A great game with tons of replay-ability. I bought this game because of its Spiel des Jahres award. Anything with that award has been a great game, in my experience. I play this is a 2 player game most often, but I do play with 3 or 4 players sometimes. Even with 2 players it is still a lot of fun. The game takes a bit longer than the 30 minutes listed on the box, but as the players get better the games go faster. Turns are very short so before you know it is is your turn again, making the game very engaging.

"The BEST SHORT (30 minutes) strategy game.", This game is fantastic and a must have if you are into strategy gaming. The reason it is a must have is because it only takes 30 minutes to play, and if you are a strategy gamer, you know you don't ALWAYS have time to play the game you really want to play. This game has all the intrigue and strategy that might come with a much longer game, but again can be played in only 30 minutes (sometimes only 20 minutes). This is a game that won't get boring, either, since you only use 10 stacks of cards and the game comes with 27. You can choose any 10 stacks out of the 27 and you can also buy the expansions for even more choices if you like.

"Great card game", Great card game to play with family and/or friends.
More sophisticated than regular card games, but simple enough to finish a game in 30-60 minutes.
